About the Role

As an Associate Advisor at Horizon Financial, you’ll join a fast-paced, detail-oriented team where you’ll gain meaningful financial planning experience—without production or sales pressure. You’ll assist advisors across the full client lifecycle: from preparing account paperwork and review materials, to resolving service requests, to ensuring meetings are well prepared and well followed up.

As your skills and licensing progress, you’ll often serve as “second chair” in client meetings, providing direct planning support alongside a lead advisor. This role offers a clear path from operational excellence to deeper planning and client-facing responsibilities.

What You’ll Do

  • Client service & communication: Interact with clients in person and by phone; facilitate and resolve service requests with professionalism and urgency.
  • Paperwork & operations: Prepare and review new account and service paperwork; manage workflows across multiple systems with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Meeting support: Schedule client meetings; prepare agendas, reports, and review packets; ensure all materials are complete and accurate.
  • Administrative rhythm: Maintain calendars, correspondence, supplies, and mail; handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Advisor support: Once licensed and fully trained, serve as second chair in some client appointments or lead some administrative meetings under advisor supervision.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 2+ years in financial services, banking, or insurance preferred (equivalent education or related experience considered).
  • Licensing: Series 65 or Series 7 & 66 and state insurance licenses (or willingness/ability to obtain within ~6 months of hire).
  • Core strengths: Exceptional attention to detail, strong time management, ability to work independently in a paperwork-intensive, multi-system environment; strong client service orientation.
  • Professional standards: Commitment to fiduciary conduct under Horizon’s compliance program and Code of Ethics.

Nice to Have (Preferred, Not Required)

  • Familiarity with financial services technology platforms such as Schwab (custodian), Redtail CRM, Orion Advisor, or Hubly workflows.
  • Comfort working with older individuals and the patience to explain complex financial information in clear, simple terms.
  • Exposure to financial planning concepts, such as preparing client review reports or supporting retirement/investment discussions.
  • Experience coordinating across custodians or service providers (initiating account service, tracking requests, resolving escalations).

Why Horizon Financial

  • Strong culture: Join a respected firm with a client-first ethos, focused on helping families achieve their financial goals—without sales quotas or the pressure to build your own book.
  • Skill growth: Clear path from operational excellence to deeper planning involvement, including second chairing meetings as licensing and proficiency grow.
  • Team environment: Work in a close-knit office with direct access to firm leadership and opportunities to contribute to firm-wide initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $55,000 to $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience, licensing status, and professional qualifications.
  • Benefits: 401(k) with company contributions, company-sponsored health insurance, paid vacation, and company bonus eligibility.
